City Year is a national nonprofit program that brings together a diverse group of 17-24 year olds to perform a year of service. Continuing its partnership with Virgil Middle School, City Year has many motivated and amazing corps members serving in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classrooms providing in-class academic support and mentoring to students.
City Year’s after school program is dedicated to providing Virgil Middle School students with high quality academic enrichment. By working closely with students and teachers in class, City Year Corps Members are uniquely positioned to provide targetted support to students in the after school program. In addition to academic tutoring, we offer Educational Clubs—Culture, Creativity, Games— as a part of our program on Tuesdays. Along with daily activities. City Year’s afterschool program is open to all students at Virgil Middle School who have completed and returned a City Year After-School Application.
The program operates on school days Monday – Thursday, beginning immediately after school and ending at 5:00 P.M. An application can be obtained from City Year at Virgil, Room 909.
